Repairs and improvements to roadways

Result :

SR Newman was selected to carry out extensive improvements to failed areas of roadways in the main High Street in Guildford. The works had the added complication of allowing traffic movements during the construction process, which meant that most of the works had to be carried out overnight to allow normal trading during the day.

We consulted with local store owners and borough council representatives to ensure we met the concerns of all involved in this particular project. The works themselves were to excavate and reconstruct failed areas of roadway, while ensuring that the existing granite cobblestone profile was re-laid precisedly as before. We met the budget and programme of works agreed with our client, who was satisified to the extent that they awarded SR Newman the second phase of these works.
